2023 Mazda CX-9: new pricing revealed
September 02 2022,
The Mazda CX-9 returns in the same form in 2023, as the formula in place for 2022 is still as attractive as ever. This competitively priced luxury SUV is still a great choice for those looking for a spacious, well-built, reliable and fun-to-drive SUV.
Here's what it will cost in 2023 to buy one.
The first thing you need to know is that there is a $600 price increase on the base model, a decision that had to be made due to inflation. The equipment remains the same, while the same five configurations remain in the catalog. We're talking about the GS, GS-L, GT, Kuro and Signature variants. Let's take a look at the price of each, as well as some of the key elements that define it.
First, the GS model will be priced at $41,550. Right off the bat, i-Activesense suite safety features are standard, such as blind spot and rear cross-traffic alerts, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning and pedestrian detection. Standard equipment includes a three-zone climate control system, push-button start, and rain-sensing wipers. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto apps are of course included and come to life on the 10.25-inch screen of the multimedia system.
Moving up to the GS-L trim, priced at $45,300, we see a heated steering wheel added to the lineup, as well as heated rear seats. Wireless charging for cellular devices, a power liftgate and 20-inch wheels define this variant. For $500, Mazda also offers to replace the second-row bench seat with captain's chairs.
With the GT model, at $50,550, you get added LED front and rear lighting, a hands-free tailgate, ventilated front seats, navigation, a premium Bose audio system, head-up display, and a 360-degree view camera, among other features. The option of captain's chairs is also available for this variant.
Next is the Kuro proposal at $52,150. This time, captain's chairs are standard and the interior is draped in garnet red leather. Aluminum appliqués are featured on the dashboard.
Finally, with the Signature variant, which is priced at $53,550, you get the ultimate in all of the above, plus Nappa leather (white or brown), a second-row center console, interior wood trim, LED grille accents, and unique 20-inch alloy wheels.
Otherwise, it's unchanged under the hood as the brand's 2.5-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine continues to be available, which can give you up to 250 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque when fueled with 93-octane gas. Otherwise, with regular gasoline, the capacity is 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. All-wheel drive is standard, and a six-speed automatic transmission handles the power transfer to the wheels.
The first 2023 CX-9s are expected in the fall of 2022.
