Three reasons to buy a 2021 Mazda3 instead of a 2021 Honda Civic
May 25 2021,
The 2021 Mazda3 and the 2021 Honda Civic are two of Quebec's most popular compact sedans, and each offers a lot to its next owner. That said, the Mazda3 does offer several things the Honda Civic does not have, including all-wheel drive. It is also considered by experts to be more fun to drive than the Civic.
The Mazda3 and the Honda Civic are two great cars, but the Mazda3 has the advantage on different levels. Let's take a closer look.
Performance
The Honda Civic is powered out of the gate by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. The Mazda3 offers a standard engine that develops 155 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. This engine is therefore less powerful, but it has more torque which means that in the end, it delivers better performance.
From there, the advantage goes straight to the Mazda3. It offers a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that delivers 186 horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque while a new 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine introduced last year promises up to 250 horsepower and 320 lbs. -pi of torque. No model in the Civic lineup can match this level of performance.
All-wheel drive
The 2021 Mazda3 is also one of the few cars to offer all-wheel drive in its segment. If you've ever driven a vehicle with all-wheel drive, you know the benefits offered in both winter and summer are impressive. With all-wheel drive, you enjoy better stability in all road conditions.
The Mazda3 is more modern
The new Mazda3 was redesigned last year while the Honda Civic is several years old. It’s about to be completely redesigned, this Civic. So, today's Honda Civic is near the end of its career which means less resale value and less equipment.
If you want modern and advanced technology, the Mazda3 is the model to go for.
