The New 2022 Mazda CX-5 Distinguishes Itself with its Safety Technologies
December 06 2021,
The 2022 Mazda CX-5 stands out with multiple standard and optional safety technologies that allow you to drive without fear, no matter the road conditions or traffic density.
The i-activsense technology suite
The 2022 Mazda CX-5 has several standard i-activsense safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, which applies the brakes when an obstacle is detected in front of the vehicle to avoid a collision, Advanced Blind Spot Monitoring, which alerts you when a vehicle is in your blind spot, Lane Keeping Assist, which warns you when the CX-5 crosses a lane marker and acts on the steering to bring you back into the center of your lane. In addition, Rear Cross Traffic Alert makes backing out of a parking space safer and easier by alerting you to approaching vehicles that you might otherwise have had difficulty seeing. Intelligent Cruise Control is also standard and helps you keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you.
Standard All-Wheel Drive
New for 2022, every CX-5 model comes standard with Mazda's capable i-Activ All-Wheel Drive system. This AWD system monitors the road and responds to wheel slippage by sending more power to the wheels with the best traction to increase vehicle stability on slippery roads and provide the dynamic driving experience Mazda is known for when the surface is dry. A torque vectoring function is also part of the i-Activ AWD system. This feature senses cornering forces and sends most of the engine's power to the outside wheels, helping the CX-5 corner more quickly. This system gives you more confidence when driving in adverse conditions and it allows you to drive in deep snow without worry, even where other vehicles might get stuck.
