Everything you need to know about the new Mazda CX-90 2023
December 20 2022,
In early 2023, Mazda will introduce a new SUV. This one won't be a simple utility vehicle like the others. It will feature new mechanical approaches, new technologies, and a new Mazda design philosophy.
It's the beginning of a new era. Here's everything you need to know about the one that's going to blow us away in a few months. With the new Mazda CX-90, Mazda confirms its intentions to offer even more luxury in its models as well as advanced technologies, all with new engines that combine performance and efficiency.
What to expect from the new Mazda CX-90 in brief:
- Advanced safety technologies
- Outstanding efficiency with new inline six-cylinder and plug-in hybrid engines
- Impressive versatility
- Exceptional comfort
- Plenty of room for passengers
- Advanced connected technologies
- Styling that won't go unnoticed
A much more luxurious SUV
First of all, you have to understand that Mazda wants to offer you more luxurious, more refined models. Mechanically, this required a paradigm shift. Thus, the 2024 CX-90 will feature a new 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder engine (turbo), an approach that has been very successful with German luxury manufacturers. A 48-volt mild hybrid system will also be included with this powertrain.
In addition, a plug-in hybrid variant will also be offered, presumably with the same configuration as the CX-60 recently launched in Europe. This one benefits from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine, as well as an electric motor and a 17.8 kWh battery. In all, it offers 323 horsepower and an electric range worthy of the name on the European market.
What we expect, too, is to discover an even more luxurious interior environment. We'll see this model in January when it's officially unveiled by the company. A variant with two rows of seats will also be introduced later. It will be called the CX-70.
Keep an eye on our updates to know all the details that will be communicated to us about this new and highly anticipated player at Mazda.
